Halewood enters new distribution deal with Dictador
In another strategic move to further bolster its innovative and artisanal spirits portfolio, Halewood Wines & Spirits has signed a deal as the exclusive UK distributor of Dictador, the Colombian-based producer of multi award-winning rums and gins.
Taking over from Proof Drinks, Halewood will draw on its extensive national footprint to supply both the UK on and off trade with Dictador’s ultra-premium spirits portfolio, which ranges between £40 and £600 at retail. This includes its line-up of aged rums and gins, expertly selected ‘Best of’ limited-edition rums, and its most luxurious expression, 2 Masters.
To produce its high-quality liquids, the Destilería Colombiana, which has been located on the Caribbean coast since 1913, uses locally sourced sugar cane honey and a proprietary natural yeast strain that is cultivated by the family – this is to ensure the brand’s distinct taste and texture profile is kept pure and consistent.
The brand’s exceptional spirits truly enhance Halewood’s existing portfolio of premium gin and rum brands, which includes Aber Falls Distillery, Whitley Neill, City of London Distillery, Marylebone Gin, Liverpool Organic Gin, Dead Man’s Fingers, The Glasgow Distillery Company, Rum Sixty Six and Centenario Internacional Rum, making it one of the most enviable artisanal spirit ranges in the UK.
Cesar Triana Botero, Regional Manager for Western Europe at Dictador, commented: “Having witnessed the Whitley Neill brand enjoy its burgeoning success in the UK off trade, driven by Halewood’s first-rate marketing and distribution expertise, it was clear that the business would provide Dictador with a fantastic platform to accelerate its growth and strengthen its off trade presence, in particular.”
Commenting on the deal, Stewart Hainsworth, Group CEO at Halewood Wines & Spirits, added: “Dictador is an incredibly high calibre brand with a distinctive range that appeals to many discerning drinkers. With our focus on quality, the brand’s proposition of high grade distilling provides a great opportunity to capitalise on the growth of the super-premium rum and gin categories, and we’re looking forward to supporting the brand in expanding its reach throughout the UK.”← BACK TO ALL ARTICLES
