Judy was appointed Chairwoman in 2011, inheriting the role from her late husband, John Halewood, who successfully founded the business in 1978. Judy works closely alongside the executive leadership team to continue the ongoing growth of Halewood’s artisanal spirits portfolio.

Ian Douglas


Over the past ten years, Ian has provided financial and business advice on behalf of Halewood shareholders. He brings over 40 year experience to the role, having previously worked as a chartered accountant and tax advisor at DSG Chartered Accountants.

Stewart Hainsworth

Group CEO

Appointed CEO in 2015, Stewart is an internationally mobile CEO with a proven track record in FMCG businesses. A former FTSE 100 Director, he has experience working globally across the UK, USA, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, CIS, Middle East, China, Australia and Africa.

He has held senior board positions in large publicly traded companies and worked as a turnaround specialist CEO in private equity backed companies. He is also a certified chartered accountant, and Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA).

Alan Robinson

Group Financial Director

Alan joined the business in September 2015. Prior to joining Halewood, Alan held a number of senior financial roles at drinks companies, most recently as International Finance Director at Roust (owner of Russian Standard Vodka and Zubrowka), and VP of Finance for Western Europe and Africa at Brown-Forman (owner of Jack Daniel’s and Woodford Reserve among others).

Prior to that Alan worked at BOC and The Coca-Cola Company. Alan is a Chartered Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Bristol.

UK Managing Director

John has over 20 years’ experience in alcohol sales and the development of spirits brands in the UK, having previously held the position of Managing Director at Russian Standard Vodka, and UK Sales Director for Whyte & Mackay.

He joined Halewood as Managing Director in 2016.

James Stocker

Marketing Director

James has many years of marketing experience in the drinks industry, having worked for distillers and brewers both in the UK and abroad.

Most recently, he spent five years at William Grant & Son’s, where he managed brands such as Glenfiddich, Grant’s Whisky, The Balvenie and Sailor Jerry. In a drinks distributor capacity, James has worked on brands including Johnnie Walker, Rémy Martin, Bombay Sapphire, Cointreau, Kronenbourg 1664 and Heineken.

Lee Tayburn

Group Operations Director

With over 20 years of experience in manufacturing operations, Lee has covered all aspects of the role, from contract packing through to distillery design and build. He started his career with Halewood at H&A Prestige Bottling before moving to Halewood Artisanal Spirits.

Today, he is responsible for all aspects of the Operations for the Halewood Group in the UK.

Johan Oosthuizen

South Africa Managing Director

Johan joined Halewood as Managing Director of its South African operations 2014.

He has a B Comm Accounting (Hons) degree and a Master’s degree in Business Management, and brings over 25 years of management experience in the retail, food, beverage and manufacturing environment to the role.

Elena Khrustaleva

Russia and CIS Managing Director

Elena has 20 years’ experience working in the tobacco and drinks industry, holding various management positions in brand marketing and sales/commercial, both in Russia and the Middle East.

Before joining Halewood in 2019, Elena was General Director at Roust (RTDs) in Russia, a position she held for seven years. She has a proven track record of successfully turning the business around from losses to profit through strong financial management, constantly increasing and diversifying business capabilities and personally leading the ongoing evolution of the brand portfolio.
