JJ Whitley was always inspired by a curiosity of botanicals that were accessible to the quintessential British country garden and the Violet Gin is a prime example of the eight generations of distilling influence. One of the three key ingredients of all contemporary gin distillation is Angelica Root, which ironically is the base of the Iris or Violet flower. This recipe uses a blend of an additional 7 botanicals, namely Juniper, Coriander, Liquorice Root, Orange Peel, Lemon Peel, Cassia Bark, and the English country garden Violet flower.
A smooth and refined fragrant floral note complimented by a delicate palate of English country garden violets. The rounded finish is balanced by an earthy sweetness of liquorice root and herbaceous juniper berries.
